Chairperson of Board

Aygun Aliyeva was born in 1988. She graduated with distinction from the Azerbaijan University of Languages, obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Relations at the Faculty of Regional Studies and International Relations. She has also pursued doctoral studies in International Relations at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (Faculty of International Economic Relations) and Khazar University, and has taken further studies in International Relations at King’s College London, as well as at the United Nations Institute for Peace in the field of “Peaceful Coexistence: Strengthening Peace, Security, Human Rights and Development.”

From 2010 to 2012, she held various positions at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, and from 2012 to 2013 at the New Azerbaijan Party. Between 2013 and 2020, she served as Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Binagadi District. From 2020 to 2021, she was Head of the Department for Public Relations, Documentation, and Citizen Appeals at the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB). On 23 November 2021, she was appointed Executive Director of the Agency on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and as of 5 January 2026, she serves as Chairperson of its Board.

By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 5 June 2025, she is a member of the Organizing Committee of the Thirteenth Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13).

She is married and has two children.
