A global discussion on housing and urban development opened in Nairobi on 8 April 2026 during a high-level session held on the first day of the Africa Urban Forum in Kenya.
The session focused on innovative financing mechanisms for housing and urban development, including public-private partnerships, climate finance and hybrid financing models. It was moderated by Vimala Tyuro, Head of the Fund Management Group at Shelter Afrique Development Bank.
