Within the framework of “Baku Urban Planning Week” and with the support of the NGO Agency, the public associations “Caspian Intellectual Youth Club” and “Ismayilli Intellectual Games Club” organized an open-air intellectual championship titled “On the Shore of the Caspian” at the Seaside National Park on May 11, 2026.
At the opening ceremony of the championship, Maleyka Taghizadeh, representative of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), wished the participants success and called on young people to actively participate in WUF13.
Chairperson of the “Caspian Intellectual Youth Club” Public Union, Azad Manafli, stated that the aim of the project is to promote the development of intellectual games among young people and to raise awareness on urban planning and architecture. During the five-stage championship, participants were presented with questions related to the history of urban planning, architectural landmarks, Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, as well as international experience. The teams were symbolically named after 12 cities of Azerbaijan.
The competition attracted significant interest from both participants and city residents. The event later concluded with a musical program.
As a result of the championship, which was held in a highly competitive and engaging atmosphere, the “Quba” team won first place. The “Baku” and “Nakhchivan” teams secured second and third places respectively. Gifts were presented to the winning teams.
