On April 22, 2026, within the framework of the "Regional Ecological Summit - 2026" held in Astana, Aygun Aliyeva, Chairperson of the Board of the Agency on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Gulbara Sultanova, Chairperson of the Committee for Civil Society Affairs under the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of civil society institutions, the improvement of state-public cooperation mechanisms, and the support of environmental initiatives.
It was also noted that the Azerbaijan NGO Agency is undergoing intensive preparations for the II Solidarity Forum of NGOs of Member States of the Organization of Turkic States, to be held on May 16, 2026. The Agency's main partner in organizing this forum is the Platform of NGOs of Member States of the Organization of Turkic States, which was established in November 2025 in Nakhchivan at the initiative of NGOs from eight countries.
As part of the visit, representatives of the NGO Agency also participated in cultural events organized for the participants of the "Regional Ecological Summit - 2026."
